The Democratic Party of Arkansas had a big to-do in North Little Rock Friday night, pulling in an estimated 1,400 people for a big party fundraiser at Verizon Arena. Why, all the stars were there: Gov. Mike Beebe! Sen. Blanche Lincoln! Sen. Mark Pryor! Attorney Gen. Dustin McDaniel! Bill Halter, champion of the Arkansas lottery! Blake Rutherford! Good for them. Sign of the Times

...is that you won't see many campaign signs in Arkansas in 2008, at least in the presidential race. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Matthew S.L. Cate, who was tragically born with one too many initials, reports that Arkansas' "nonbattleground status" means that campaign yard signs will be hard to come by in the Natural State. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Hits a New Low!

In a story today on the opening of Barack Obama's state office in North Little Rock, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette tips a hat to the Arkansas Project's "Rumor Mongering" item from Tuesday about a possible Natural State touchdown by GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin: Obama last visited Arkansas during Gov.
