Who Will Succeed Gwatney as Dem Chief?

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Seth Blomeley delves into the issue of who is to replace murdered Democratic Party chair Bill Gwatney, shot in his office one week ago today. Talks with Gov. Mike Beebe, Sen. Mark Pryor, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and others reveal that for now, nobody’s sayin’ much of nothin’.

Gwatney’s superdelegate seat at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver may be filled by an alternate, but party spokesman says that decision hasn’t been made.

Grace note: Former party chair Ron Oliver suggests renaming Democratic Party Headquarters in tribute to Gwatney.

  • I am hearing that it will be either Jim Argue or Joyce Elliott

  • AKA Bryce

Joyce Elliot would be an excellent choice.
