If you didn’t make it to the Central Arkansas Young Republicans lunch where I was speaking in Little Rock today, that’s probably for the best, because we just ended up talking about you and making fun of you behind your back. So if you’d been there it would have been really awkward.

Rubber Stamp: Sharp take on the “superfluous” Arkansas legislature from blogger Mark Moore: “There is no need to even have a legislature under their current operational philosophy.” (Arkansas Watch)

Painfully True: Fun post from Rep. Mark Martin on how to write a conservative activist e-mail. (Off the Marble)

Baker Watch:
Eagle-eyed Capitol reporter Rob Moritz spies Sen. Gilbert Baker, a rumored U.S. Senate candidate, talking to former GOP executive director Clint Reed in a hallway. Sounds like Baker is in—that’s all the proof I need, because I am an idiot. (Politics in Arkansas)

Scholarly: Senate education committee deeps sixes in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants bill. (AP)

Card Check Watch: Pennsylvania’s Sen. Arlen Specter says ‘no way’ on card check bill. Blogger K. Ryan James wants to know, what will Blanche Lincoln do? (K. Ryan James Blog)

Why R: Now Jason Tolbert’s all over the race for the chairmanship of the Arkansas Young Republicans. Man, this guy. (The Tolbert Report)

Dave’s Twitter Hatred, Updated: Oh, look, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences announced their new chancellor on Twitter. Wow! What a remarkable technology! I mean, they already had the capability to broadcast this announcement, but now it can be done slightly faster! (Lance Turner Please Come Up With a Name for Your Stupid Blog Blog)

Never Mind: No more February primaries in Arkansas, because that idea turned out to be completely moronic. (AP)

Hello Mr. ArPro Guy. In recognition of your abject laziness on all things journalistic, I thought I would drop you a little advance notice that tomorrow’s economic numbers due to be announced by Richard “The Sky Is Falling” Weiss will be absolutely horrible. It appears, just as Dick has predicted for months on end now, that the economic crisis has indeed caught up to us here in Hooterville. This just goes to prove, on the Dickster’s behalf, that if you say something long enough, it will eventually come true.

Rumors are also abounding that the windfall expected from pounding on the cigarette smokers with new confiscatory taxes isn’t quite the windfall expected. Could there be a new Surgeon General on the horizon for Arkansas?

I would write more, but I live a long way from Missouri and I must head out for another load of butts before the next episode of Intervention is scheduled to air.

So, Mr ArPro Guy, I have done your digging for the day and you have the big tip. Run with it my friend, run with it.

Thanks for your efforts to underscore my status as the worst and laziest blogger in Arkansas, Cameron.

Also, I’m totally on board with this “say something long enough so it comes true” tactic. That’s why I wear this “World’s Greatest Lover” t-shirt everywhere I go. Call me, ladies!

  • LOL, that Lance Turner always makes me laugh. He’s so serious all the time. Lighten up Lance, it’s only T.V.

Did you know I went to school with him? It’s true, he looks exactly the same as I remember.

Hey Lance holler at me we’ll have to go have a beer sometime.

Jeeze, Kinkade. What do we pay you for around here? You can’t get a scoop worth a crap. I only tune in to see when your mom left Bill’s house in Sheridan. Also, Cameron, if your parents had named you “Pine” you could run against an imcumbent in the Democratic Primary.

FRR, my middle name is DeValls. I suppose I still could if I were desperate enough to run as a Dem. Wait, that didn’t work so well for old Bill Walters, did it…

He switches from being a Republican to run for State Rep as a Dem and the guy who was a Dem switched to run as a Republican and the guy who switched from being a Dem to run as a Republican beat the guy who was a Republican but switched to run as a Dem. Or something like that.

I like that I misspelled incumbent.

I believe that Bill Walters is a zoroastrian.

  • David, you got me. That Presidential primary bill was terrible. Except for my vote to increase the tax citizens pay for drivers licenses that was my worst vote.
