So Sarah Palin Will Come to Arkansas After All on February 16 (Updated!)

An early morning e-mail showed up promoting a February 16 visit to Arkansas by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for a fundraiser on behalf of the Republican Party of Arkansas.

Palin’s visit was suggested a couple of weeks ago on The Tolbert Report, but some confusion arose because word had leaked out via Facebook before details were finalized. Tolbert had it right to begin with, and it appears the earlier confusion has been cleared up.

Looks like the state GOP is playing it smart with lower cost tickets for the speech ($65 and $35, I’m told), which is a good thing as the event’s slated for Verizon Arena in Little Rock. Tickets for seats at dinner tables on the floor are going for $175. More to come when more details emerge.

UPDATE: I received a subsequent message this morning on this matter, and the correspondent asked that we keep this news “under our hats” until the state GOP has had the opportunity to formally announce the event. So please forget everything that you just read above while we await the formal announcement.

Great picture. It just screams for a fill in the caption. I will start.

Levi’s what? Oh, I would say about this big.

  • Seriously Robert?

For someone who is on the executive committee, Robert Obar is not very good at keeping his mouth shut when details haven’t yet been finalized for release. While I hope the intentions were good I find it odd that the e-mail (which by this time has probably been forwarded all over the state) states that people should send their checks to the Pulaski County Committee. What is he trying to do…make it look like a Pulaski Committee event or trying to scam everyone into buying tickets from him instead? Wouldn’t it make more sense to send the checks to those who are selling the tickets…you know, the RPA?

    Okay, Bubba;
How much will the RPA pocket after I’m paid my speaking fees? Oh, about this much.

  • So Sarah, what are the chances that Jim Holt or Gilbert Baker will win the US Senate Race?

Since we’re not supposed to know about Sarah comin’ to Arkansas, can we go back to bad-mouthin’ Kinkade here? I mean it just seems like a waste of a good comments section not to if you ask me.

  • I’d rather bad-mouth big-mouthed Robert Obar.

Don’t know Robert Obar, but it seems pretty selfish to send out word in advance, and then ask folks to send your committee the money.

Probably not going to happen, now.

Not a good way to earn trust in a Party, either.

Palin’s OK; but the word has been leaking rather steadily, so something else ain’t so good.

Sarah is charging less for her dribble I see. It amazes me that people can buy into this poor excuse for about anything I can think of. Full of lies, do as I say not as I do. She still hasn’t come up with a plan of action on anything, I mean absolutely nothing. Maybe with the exception of her autobiogagg, which someone else had to make up. She is the perfect example of why no one should vote Republican ever again, along with Limbaugh. Even loyal republicans voted against this imbecile.
Republicans need to stand up and find someone with at least the IQ of treebark, to stand with.
It’s ok with me if you dont because no way will she ever hold elected office again. It’s just we are all in a time of need, a time of ideas not this idiot or a whole party of obstructionist.

I think that Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, should sell newspapers for a living. I don’t think it’s fair, that she has to support her and her son. And, I also think that she should not run for president in 2012.

  • This woman is a classless wonder both clueless and lying. She will do whatever it takes to keep her face out of there in the media. She wants to make money – lots of it – she feeds on the ignorance of people labeling anyone who questions her as one of the “liberal elite”. Your preference for uneducated leaders is very telling, as is your claim that Sarah Palin “speaks in a straightforward and logical manner”, which suggests that you are unable to recognize inarticulate, incoherent speech when you hear it. By all means go to Arkansas!

    civicsue or civic sue,

There was quite a bit more capitalization and punctuation that needed to be corrected to make your vitriolic diatribe articulate and coherent, but quite frankly I was getting [sic] of it.

You’re making me blush! The way you used “cute” and “love” in the same sentence to describe me, oh, and less than 30 “g”s in boring. Whew, that’s hot!!! Talk to me, Baby!

BTW, it’s find not “fine.” Or maybe you were thinking of me.

  • There are no separation from (dems/Reps) Either so-called party has always been working toward the same goal. No matter who they said we have elected, they’ve always said one thing and meant another. Though If I were to vote for a president, it would be Sarah Palin. We can use a woman to slap these behemoths back into shape!!
