Snyder to Head HHS?

Mr. Secretary? Sure, why not.
Mr. Secretary? Sure, why the hell not.

With an unexpected leadership vaccum at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (ha ha ha, you suck, Tom Daschle), President Barack Obama now has to find a new secretary candidate to throw to the sharks in the Senate. Talking Points Memo floats a list of names….which includes Arkansas’ own legislatin’ doc, Rep. Vic Snyder!

Granted, they say he’s a dark horse and pretty much take it back as soon as they float the name, but this is The Arkansas Project and the worst blog in the entire state so let’s get that rumor started: “Sources in Washington D.C. say that U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder is under consideration to head HHS.” Hey, this is fun!

Bonus fun: Now, start speculating wildly amongst yourselves as to who will take his place in the Arkansas Second District Congressional seat.

I can’t imagine who might run for Congress if Representative Snyder retires.

I am disappointed in you Mr. ARPro Guy…you display another easy photo/tagline with blog posting. Anyone could have decided to put up a photo of Snyder and his date. If you had truly wanted to demonstrate your self-proclaimed abilities as a comedianwriter/journalist/editor/lunberjack/brain scientist/rocket surgeon/all-around-wonderful-guy, you would have used this post as some type of reason to slip in the Girls from Brazil again.

    Such a waste.

Talking Points Memo hit the nail on the head about why this WON’T happen: Vic is a “backbencher”. Which is also why he needs to be replaced.

    Great logic Corny.

Replace him with what, a freshman Republican?

That will help. Those guys have a lot of stroke these days.

That Blaine Luetkemeyer sure is effective.

Vic is the proud dad of triplet sons, born in December, and another toddler son. I don’t see him taking the job, even if offered. My guess is a job like that requires more time than being a Congressman. I doubt it happens.
