Senate, Tolbert Weigh Bail-Out

The U.S. Senate will be casting a couple of important roll call votes this evening on the big financial sector bail-out bill. If you’re not sure what to think about the bill and would like to learn more, man, did you ever come to the wrong blog.

But if that’s what you’re after, then go hang out with Jason Tolbert at The Tolbert Report, who is actually reading the damn thing and offering a reasonably informed assessment. Remarkable.

Wow, “reasonable informed,” believe it or not that is the nicest thing anyone has said about me all day. By the way, it passed 74 to 25. Both Pryor and Lincoln voted for it as did McCain and Obama. The real test will be tomorrow in the House.

Glad to see that you guys are still calling it a “Bailout” instead of switching to the Orwellian “new-speak” term that the media is now using — “rescue plan.”
