Obamacare Exchanges, Day 1: Add Arkansas To The List Of States Without Access
Much to the surprise of, well, no one, the Obamacare exchanges that were set to go live today are failing miserably all over the country. States with state-based exchanges like Oregon and California have been experiencing serious glitches, but the federal exchange is also experiencing outages, leaving virtually everyone without access.
In Arkansas, we have a “state exchange” — which we’ve been told was going to create all of this “competition and efficiency” and a “better consumer experience” — but the Deputy Commissioner of the exchange, Cynthia Crone, told lawmakers yesterday that Arkansans can’t actually enroll in the exchange via the Arkansas Health Connector website. Instead, the Arkansas website simply leads Arkansans to the federal portal/exchange.
One of our loyal readers tried to access the federal portal today and got this error message:
Another fan of our Facebook Page sent in this screenshot, which hilariously couples a picture of the Obamacare exchange failings with a Mike “Deciding vote for Obamacare” Ross for Governor ad:
When I tried to access the portal, I got a different error message:
And I’ve also been unable to reach anyone through the “user-friendly” live chat. It’s been about an hour:
On the first day of Obamacare, it seems we are well on our way to a third-world experience.
Discussion was closed in committee yesterday before I got to ask my question regarding length of waiting time. My constituents tell me they’ve been calling the # advertised in AR and are told their questions will be answered in approx 3 wks. I’d hoped that would be better today when exchanges actually opened.
Truly we have the best gov. can muster !!!! The fact is the the world just kept on keeping on, and the fact is the lame stream media would have you believe just like chicken little that the sky was falling after a gov. shut down. Truth is,when it comes right down to it we were better off without the worthless bureaucrats !!!!

Don’t you think we should give such a large and ambitious enterprise more than a day or 2 to be up and running? This healthcare law is a great idea. Unless you are a regular viewer of Fox News. They’ve been spreading lies and misinformation from inception.
