Now Let’s Hassle Robbie Wills Some More

I don’t mean to belabor this matter about House Speaker Robbie Wills and his newly established taxpayer-funded propaganda ministry in the Arkansas House of Representatives, but let’s belabor this matter.

Rep. Dan Greenberg, who along with House Minority Leader Bryan King and Rep. Ed Garner has been vocal in opposition to Wills’ scheme, has a good post below where he notes that Wills chalks up the whole dang mix-up to a “mistaken paraphrase” of his intentions by a reporter.

Said reporter, John Lyon of the Arkansas News Bureau, has kindly posted the transcript of his recorded interview with Wills, who clearly states in the transcript that the goal of the office is to “advocate the objectives of the leadership of the House of Representatives.” See for yourself.

And by the way, invaluable Arkansas Project commenter ddubb asks below, If the House leadership is so committed to open communication from legislators to the public, why did they try to shut down GOP Rep. Mark Martin from blogging committee hearings just last month? Excellent question, ddubb!

  • I would imagine they were trying to protect the reputation of the elected office Mark Martin holds. To keep it a respected position, one which when you boil it down is essentially Arkansas Lawmaker. If you have paid any attention to the garbage that Mark Martin tweets, writes and blogs, using taxpayer paid for electronic means and email accounts, you have to wonder how he even became elected and stays in office. He is the poster boy of the right wing nut jobs which the rest of the country laughs at. It wouldn’t be so bad if he is only a blogger. But he has an elected position and a responsibility to his peers to not diminish that position. One day he is a Borg, the next day he is a pirate, the next a devil. All considered to be evil entities in history or popular culture. The photos of him with horns, a pitchfork and a tail, are disturbing to say the least. And keep in mind he did that to himself. He has even used that process to demean a private citizen’s right to run for office, attempted to squelch the 1st amendment and violated both oaths of office when he was sworn in. I say he is lucky they didn’t censure him. There is some darkness in that man’s soul.

I know what you mean SenateWatch. Martin would be well advised to follow the proven methods of the Trevor Drown playbook and stop screwing around on the internets.

  • Thanks guys, I really try to do my best. Lovely thing about the 1st Amendment and of course David’s willingness to provide space. When I was first given this assignment in my political science class, I thought it would be an impossible task. I figured no one would respond and take the bait to mention an independent’s name on a conservative blog. I must say the regular members of this blog have done an admirable job and it has provided me a lot of material. I look forward to the rest of the semester gathering material, please keep it up. Don’t know if I will ever be in Arkansas or meet your Trevor Drown. But he must be a great guy and a real threat with as much attention as you give him.

I agree with Robbie for the most part about SenateWatch’s annoying post EXCEPT for this one SenateWatch has a very valid point. I used to follow Mark Martin’s chat until the point he started posting pictures of himself in villainous garb. That should be an indicator of ones mental thought process. I have three children that follow politics and for me to have to explain why an elected representative of a so called conserative background would paint himself as the devil is ridiculous. I for one am glad this is Mark’s last term. The people need to know who they have really elected, and it is not a role model. This tactic by Wills has saved us some embarrassment as far as Mark goes, but it has obviously been created to be one sided for the Dems. Leadership do us a favor and pull the reigns in on the devil before he sticks his fork in us. I’m done…well done that is.

Oh, I see! It was all an elaborate ruse! Dang it! Curses! If only Scooby Doo and the gang were around to have foiled this diaboloical plot! But they weren’t and now we’ve been duped by an out of state college kid into believing that he was a Trevor Drown supporter, when in all actuality, it was all an assignment given in the first weeks of a college class! Dang my lack of vision!
But it doesn’t make sense! What is the value in such an assignment? What teacher would tell a student to go out and post on blogs to see what kind or reaction they would get? And school hasn’t been going but for a week and a half and Senate Watch has been posting on these blogs for a month or so?
But SenateWatch says it was a ploy, so it must be! Woe is me to be so easily fooled! Curse you, SenateWatch! You’ve made a fool of me!

Okay Richard, I’ll stop. I was only trying to make the most of a slow Friday before a three day weekend. But if it offends your sensibilities, I’ll stop poking fun at the peanut gallery and mock the main actors, i.e., Robbie Wills and his Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda and the newly hired Reichspropagandaleiter. Boo, hiss! A hex on you Robbie Wills and a hex on your Texas Playboys!

Now that’s more like it Rex. Let’s focus our fight on the ones that need to be smacked around (Mark, Robbie…and you know the rest).

Well, Richard, if its all the same, can we get the worthless Scots bastard that runs this craphole to put up some more scantily clad girls instead of us berating Herr Wills? Once Kinkade was known for such. But what do you expect from a Scotsman? No doubt, off buggering some lad behind the Kirk. Which is fine if that’s your thing, but he has led us to believe we will find certain things here and obviously we cannot. Life lesson number one: never trust a Scotsman.

    Cameron,
You could not learn from my and Rex’s previous blogs. Your only giving SenateWatch and his group credibility and notority. It appears that everyone wants to give Trevor Drown credit for all the disruption on this blog site. If he is the answer everyone wants to give when they feel threatened them maybe he is the answer. Otherwise quit mentioning his name. Blame Mark or Robbie!!

Hey- as long as DK thinks I am on a roll-

During the writing of the lottery laws two people -Passalay and Douglass Communications-gave advice (for free no less) to the ever illusive “house leadership”. After the law passed, Wills was one who appointed people to the Lottery Commission and the Legislative Lottery Oversight Committee. The So Carolina boy Passalay, who gave so freely of himself, is hired. He brings in two SC cronies and when their salaries and connections are revealed- public outcry ensues.
Now poor good hearted Douglass, who also gave freely of his time, gets left in the cold. It will look too obvious if he also gets a cush lottery contract. So a couple months later- low and behold, Wills hires Douglass firm for the new and improved House Communication Office consultant.
    Surprise Surprise Surprise!

  • Yes, Mark he was impressive in that video, in a Green Beret sort of way. I can just see him all bearded up with a sniper rifle chasing Taliban across Afghanistan. And by the way Rex, I am still in High School. Kind of funny that a high school girl schooled you today. I am sure Robbie and the boys are at the Flying Saucer toasting your health. A lot of us use this link to log on. It kind of gets passed around on the internets. Next week it will be Heather’s turn or Bruces, I forget. I will be back, so don’t go no where. Have a nice weekend.

    Richard,
I can do nothing with them. They are beyond me. I can’t even control that whelp of a Scotsman. You notice he doesn’t respond? Its because he’s ashamed he’s been called out. But I think it will evently take hold on its own as it is starting to become more sad than entertaining.

It wasn’t so much a question of “shame” so much as it was not having any idea how to insert myself into this nightmarish comment thread.

And ddubb IS totally on a roll. Try to be more like him.

Rex had better quit getting schooled by high school girls. He will have to register for more than the draft if he gets caught. On the other hand, some of those bikini clad niceties we were once blessed with by Braveheart, well those were certainly open targets for anyone living in the Fourche River environs. Alas, it appears that Braveheart has been reigned in by the APG and now is allowed to post only photos of Robbie Wills, Jeremy Hutchinson and Dan Greenberg, honorables all but still ugly as stumps. Such a loss for TAP-kind, such a loss.

    Cameron,
What is really bad is that I was blissfully unaware that I was being “schooled.” If I had, I might have enjoyed it more. I guess I’ll have to pay closer attention in the future.
