MoveOn.org's Newest Left-Wing Project: Saving the 'Private' Option!

moveon.org2_You might be familiar with MoveOn.org, a left-wing organization – oops, excuse me, a “progressive” organization – that pushes its agenda through (among other things) getting citizens to sign petitions. If you look at their petition website today, you’ll see that it calls for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to resign, for Pennsylvania to give up on its voter ID law, and for Texas and Tennessee to expand Medicaid. Don’t worry, MoveOn hasn’t forgotten Arkansas — they also have a petition calling for continued funding of Arkansas’s ‘private’ option:

Huh? Yes, I was surprised too. The private option: a liberal agenda item? Say it ain’t so!
MoveOn’s petition explains who the heroes and villains are in this scenario. As they note, “the Private Option is under attack by some in the legislature. Some of the more conservative members of the House of Representatives and Senate would like to derail the Private Option.” So let me think – if the more conservative members of the legislature oppose this program, then what conclusion might we draw about the politics of the legislators who support it? A very difficult question…I’ll have to ponder this.
Look, clearly the best conclusion to draw here is that MoveOn is staffed by unsophisticated activists who are too stupid to understand how the private option works. After all, they’re not from Arkansas, and they probably don’t understand the details of what’s happening in our state! Perhaps it’s better to rely on true-blue conservatives like Rep. Charlie Collins who explained that the private option will “replace Obamacare” and is a “conservative solution” to Obamacare. Or Speaker of the House Davy Carter who told us that “the Arkansas legislature has led the fight against ObamaCare and turned a losing hand into a winning one. A vote for the private option in Arkansas is a vote against ObamaCare.
Yeah, that’s the ticket. There’s no way that a couple of smart Republicans like those guys could have ever been misled into carrying out a program that violates their principles of smaller, better government. I say that our conservative elected officials are way, way smarter than a bunch of out-of-state Internet nerds! I say that all that spending on the private option will actually save us money! I say our legislators who passed the private option last year deserve not just cheers, but a standing ovation! Yeah! Now, who’s with me?
Bueller? Bueller?

What you fail to realize, this is a petition form offered for free to any that may choose to use it. Move-on is only a social media tool being used by thousands in Arkansas. There is actually a movement by Arkansans who are intelligent enough to recognize the idiocy of turning down 100% financing for the Private Option. This 100% funding will curtail an 89 Million dollar shortfall in our budget. Remember, the corporate welfare in the form of tax cuts and bond issue last legislative session to the tune of 60 Million plus dollars? Strange that some just can’t seem to realize that corporate welfare does more damage to our state budget then practicing Matthew 25 for the “least of these”. Or did our people forget that it is harder for a rich man to get into heaven then a camel to pass through the eye of a needle? Sorry, but your fact check in this story is completely wrong. See you in Little Rock at the start of this fiscal session!

You know anyone can start a petition on move on..right? Lol

    • Sure, anyone can — as long as it does not violate MoveOn’s “goals, objectives, and philosophies.” (That’s straight from their Terms of Use.) Their goal is to “unleash progressive people” for “social change.” Which is liberal gibberish for “we want to radically transform America away from limited government.”
So if the PO is SO conservative, why would MoveOn allow this petition?

It always worry me and any other clear thinking person when the government, promises you that they will give you 100% money to fund the private option. Then n a couple od years they will tell Arkansas we can no longer fulfill their obligation and you will have to pay for it or request he money they gave you. Like they do on EUC claims you are qualify then come back. to 18months later and tell you where not qualify and you must pay back the money you received.

The liberals are feeling the change that has come to Ar.,the people are realizing and are tired of having been railroaded for far to long by the left !!! They (the left) are starting to scratch tooth and nail to keep what they thought was theirs, ( talk about gall ) and now the people want it back! The people of our great state are not falling for the bait and switch the left has played for over 138 yrs.( Can I say district 21 ) and come Nov. I predict that there will be very few standing by the PO. (singing, rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell )
