More Ugly Polling Numbers for Lincoln

Blanche LincolnRoby Brock at Talk Business fires up his magical mystical polling machine yet again for a slew of questions on political and public affairs matters in Arkansas.

Among the top-line results: A notable degradation in Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s numbers from the last Talk Business survey in July. Lincoln’s latest numbers, per Roby, show 46 percent of Arkansans expressing an unfavorable opinion of the senior senator and 42 percent favorable.

Looks as if President Barack Obama, with 59 percent of Arkansans disapproving, is a millstone around Lincoln’s neck. Gov. Mike Beebe shows a slight decline but continues to post strong favorability numbers.

And lord a’mighty, there’s way more data in these polls than any one person could possibly digest in a single blog post, so I’ll send you to Roby’s blog for more info.

Meanwhile, the slip in Lincoln’s poll numbers and the carnival of candidates on the Republican side have led political watchers at Congressional Quarterly to shift their assessment of the 2010 Senate race in Arkansas from “Leans Democratic” to “Likely Democratic.”

The script for the survey begins with “Hello, this is ______________ with_______________, a public opinion research firm.”

Why is the name of the research firm blanked out? It would be useful to know their track record in previous polls.

  • I heard on the news this morning that this election day Obama is meeting with Blanche at the White House. Will she wilt? What kind of pressure will there be?

No job in Arkansas government if you are a democrat is safe. They have put such a bad taste in our mouths we are going to give them a big vote out come 2010 2012. They better look at all the czars we have now that have weird political leanings. Do they think that just because people were so tired of the way things were they trusted the wrong person for the job that they are so popular now they can never be voted out no matter what they do to us. We are tired of hearing about the bad Bush did. It is time to look at what you are doing that to us is worse than anything Bush ever thought about doing. We cannot jump to conclusions about terrorism on our military bases? Illegals are given a free ride and about get Amnesty when they take our jobs in hard ecconomic times. Our government is soo wrong we are soo tired that the elections in 2010 and 2012 will show them just how tired we are. And yet we will still get the cap and tax amd the Dream Act pushed on us. Our dream is turning into a nightmare. No giving up of our Sovereignity (bad spelling) in Copenhagen. We are a nation under the laws of no one but our selves. Read our constitution and vote accordingly.
