Mike Fletcher Kicks off Campaign, Reports Strong Fundraising Effort

HOT SPRINGS – Mike Fletcher announced, last Saturday, his candidacy for State Senate District 27. At an evening event with family, friends, and supporters, the long serving State Police Officer kicked off his campaign to succeed Senator Steve Faris who is term limited.

Fletcher outlined his commitment to public service as part of his desire to represent the residents of district 27. He currently serves as Commander for Troop K of the Arkansas State Police. For more than 43 years, he has worked to clean up drug problems and to get criminals off our streets as a State Police Officer. He was also part of the Arkansas National Guard’s 212 Signal Battalion for six years.

“I’ve made a commitment to serve and protect this community,” Fletcher said. “If I am elected, I’ll go to Little Rock to represent the folks that live in the five counties that are within this district. I know that the decisions made in Little Rock have a major impact back home and I want to do right by our friends and neighbors.”

Additionally, Fletcher announced a successful fundraising effort that has so far yielded $26,000 for his Democratic Primary campaign.

“We’ve had a great start to this campaign. People from all over the district have come out to show their support and are going to be very helpful talking to voters in every single one of the 100 miles this district stretches across Arkansas—from Sheridan to the western border of Montgomery County,” said Fletcher.

Mike Fletcher is a long time resident of Garland County. He has two grown children and three young grandchildren.

your kindness to me and my sons when you were the crimnal investigator has stayed with me over the years…my near death experience taught me a lot…in 1978…if only voters knew how you handled that situation, they would see a person who needs to be in office for all the right reasons
