It Is Like A Meetup, But For Tweeting. Thus, It Is A Tweetup.

Don’t let the stupid name scare you away. Someone has put together a “Tweetup” (again, not my coinage, dear God, please let me assure you) for central Arkansas Twitter enthusiasts. I think it might have been Lance Turner, who has been pushing it mercilessly through his blog (and Twitter!), so let’s just say it’s Lance. Way to go, Lance!  (UPDATE: So apparently it was Natalie Ghidotti’s idea and here’s Lance, on my blog, trying to take all the credit, because he is a parasite. I say “Good day, sir!”)

It’s at 5:30 p.m. at Sticky Fingerz in the River Market. I’m going to pop by, but I swear, if it’s just a bunch of people standing in a circle pecking away at their iPhones about how great it is to see everybody at the Tweetup, I’ll be back out the door so fast it’ll make your head spin.

In the meantime, feel free to follow me @davidkinkade, and I promise that I will not “live-tweet” the Tweetup. (Actually, at the precise moment of writing, you actually CAN’T follow me, because Twitter is down again. Christ, I really don’t know why we bother.)

Yeah, the blogging’s been light the last couple of days. It turns out I’ve been redisovering the joys of making money.

  • Idea for a movie: everytime Blake Rutherford tweets someone dies. Headline: Thousands Mysteriously Die Worldwide!

And heroic newspaperman John Brummett, armed with only his wits and accompanied by his sexy blogging partner Rachel McAdams, must rush to stop the mad Tweeting Rutherford before it’s too late for all of humanity!

I’m gonna run down to the store and buy a case of Oscar polish right now, ’cause I’m gonna need it thanks to this million-dollar idea!

Nemo, what, you didn’t catch “Outbreak” with Dustin Hoffman, Renee Russo and Cuba Gooding Jr.?

I didn’t see that movie, but it sounds a lot like this girl I knew in college.

  • Yeah, I saw “Outbreak,” but it didn’t feature you or Tweeting. Our movie will be great, Outbreak sucked.
