Don’t Miss Arkansas Tea Parties on Wednesday (Updated!)

I just dropped a check in the mail for my quarterly estimated tax payment, one of the glorious benefits of self-employment, which means that it’s as good a time as any for a reminder about the Tax Day Tea Party demonstrations around Arkansas tomorrow.

First, don’t miss Jessica Dean’s “Choose Your News” report on the Tea Party movement tonight at 6 p.m. on KATV/Channel 7 in Little Rock.

It appears that there will be quite a bit of activity in various towns around the state, and to get information on an event near you, you should go to this site and check their list.

Looks like the two biggest events in Arkansas will be the Little Rock and Fayetteville gatherings. If you’re here in Little Rock, the big show kicks off at the State Capitol at 3 p.m. 3:45 p.m. Click here for more details on that event as well as associated activities.

If you’re up northwest way, then it looks like there’s a big shindig in Fayetteville on the square starting at 4 p.m. Go to the Val’s Bien blog for more details, as well as information on events in Rogers and Bentonville.

And again, if you’re not in central or northwest Arkansas, go here to find a Tea Party demonstration near you. Right now it looks like there are about 20 events planned in various locations around the state, though they’ll be of varying size.

Incidentally, if you missed it last week: The Arkansas Project interviewed Rob Richard of the Central Arkansas Campaign for Liberty, who’s organizing some of the activities here in Little Rock. Check it out.

UPDATE: Loyal Arkansas Project reader Melvin J. sends along a video of the Tea Party anthem by one Lloyd Marcus that’s making the rounds. I, uhhh, guess it’s for real, though it sounds a lot like something that Trey Parker would have written for a “South Park” episode:

Yeah, that’s pretty much terrible, which means that we’ll probably be seeing this guy as a special musical guest on “Huckabee” in 3, 2, 1…..

  • Hey everyone! Rob Richard here. Just to let you know there’s been a last minute change to the Tea Party event at the Capitol on Wednesday. The time has been changed to 3:45pm – 6pm. I’d suggest people start gathering about 3:30pm.

There are Tea Party activities in North Little Rock and Little Rock all day on Wednesday. Click the link on my name for more information.

    In Liberty, Rob Richard

  • LOL at the comments from David about the Lloyd Marcus video. I was thinking the same thing when I first saw it. Without a doubt 3 minutes of our lives that we’ll never get back. Let’s make this video go VIRAL! Hehehe

  • That was without a doubt the worst political song of all time. Samir from the movie Office Space would had, “yes, this is very bad”. Chip Saltsman’s Barack the Magic Negro was better. For a truly classic political parody go to the link I attached above.
