Channel Surfing: Congress and YouTube

TechCrunch wants to know: Is your senator on YouTube? They point us to this nifty hub site for senators and congressmen with YouTube channels. How many of Arkansas’ congressional representatives and senators are reflected herein? Only two.

Surprising? Not really. For God’s sake, look at Blanche Lincoln’s website. It looks like it was designed in the 1920’s, so of course she doesn’t have a YouTube channel. You’d be lucky if she mailed you her latest floor speech on a 78 rpm record to play on your Victrola.

Here’s the House hub, and kudos to Democrat Rep. Mike Ross of the Fourth District and Republican Rep. John Boozman of the Third District for their efforts to keep their constituents in the loop.

While he probably won’t ever have an official channel, it won’t be long before Marion Berry shows up on you tube engaged in drunken buffoonery caught on tape by Japanese tourist. I’m not sure what will surface but, just as sure as a fat puppy needs to poop, it will happen.
