Jonesboro, AR – Dr. Brad Erney has announced his intention to seek the Arkansas House of Representatives District 76 seat.

Erney practices dentistry in his local Jonesboro office and is a member of both the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas State Dental Association.  He has deep roots in Northeast Arkansas, where his grandfather was a life long cotton farmer.

“I’m looking forwarded to getting out in the district and listening to the ideas and needs of everyone” said Erney.  “I want people to know up front that I am an advocate of fiscally responsible government, a firm believer in gun rights, and solidly Pro Life.  If someone disagrees with me, I still want to hear their ideas so we can make the best decision for District 76.”

Erney’s campaign will focus on such issues as economic development in eastern Craighead County, better education through improving teacher benefits, lowering the cost of higher education, and protecting and promoting Arkansas agriculture.

Erney says he will continue his practice once elected, stating “not only would I keep a pulse on the real world by talking with my patients, but I will also better understand the evolving tax codes and regulatory changes to small business by continuing to run my own.”

District 76 is located in eastern Craighead County.  It includes the communities of Bay, Black Oak, Brookland, Caraway, Lake City, Monette, and eastern parts of Jonesboro.  The district is currently held by Representative Ray Kidd who is unable to run for re-election due to term limits.
