Wyrick Ad Hits Villines on Pulaski Management
How about some local politics? An Arkansas Project fan (I know, I was surprised, too! But apparently they exist) writes in to suggest that we should pay some mind to Republican Phil Wyrick, who is making a spirited run against incumbent Democrat Buddy Villines in the race for Pulaski County judge.
Villines has held the post since, oh, I don’t know, 1958 or so, but the last couple of years have seen mounting managerial embarrassments in county government under his watch. Pulaski Co. is an uphill battle for any GOP candidate, but Wyrick looks to be pushing a solid “reform” message.
Fan sends along the following ad, which apparently is in rotation on local TV, though I haven’t seen it yet. I think that’s because political ads always seem to be running during shows I would never think of watching, like “Murder, She Wrote,” local news broadcasts and Korean War documentaries on the History Channel. Thank God for YouTube, or I’d have no idea what the hell was going on.

Change We Can Believe In.
In all seriousness Buddy Villines is what happens when a county is dominated by one political party. Not another place in the country has been as poorly ran as Pulaski County has and Villines keeps getting elected. Why? (D).
Thank goodness for the new sheriff.

Is this guy really a Republican or just a RINO. I went to youtube and the same people doing his ad are also doing the ads for Joe White who is trying to beat Senator Baker.

I care if they are trying to beat Senator Baker. It turns my stomach to go to youtube and see this guy next to Joe White and his pack of lies. Looks like they are trying to win the democrat vote by aligning with White. We don’t do things that way in Conway.

David, what do you have against “Murder She Wrote?” It ranks up there with Perry Mason and Matlock as one of the greatest shows ever to appear on a Television set.

I don’t know anything about Image Works Media. But it’s likely that it’s a local production firm that doesn’t have partisan leanings and takes all comers, as long as they’ll pay for the service—strictly a business relationship. I’m more inclined to think “coincidence” than “conspiracy,” unless someone has evidence to the contrary.

It is one thing to produce a video as a strictly business relationship. It is something else to promote it online side by side with Joe White. Unless you are trying to tell me that Image Works Media really put that online without the candidate’s permission and then somebody “happened” to send it to you so that people would see Joe White and Phil Wyrick side by side as if they are campaigning together.

Hm, so this massive conspiracy to bring down Gilbert Baker now includes the Arkansas Project? That’s a fairly strange assertion, given that I’ve made two (relatively small, but still) financial contributions to Baker’s campaign.
Again, the evidence you adduce is pretty circumstantial, but I’m open to being persuaded otherwise. Does the company have a history of political work? Have they worked primarily with Democrats or Republicans? Right now we have two videos hosted side by side on a YouTube page, which isn’t enough to go on.

Never said that Arkansas Project is involved.
It is also the same voice on both videos which can make them even more linked in the mind of the people who are watching them.
