Former state Sen. Shane Broadway, nominated by Gov. Mike Beebe to head the Arkansas Dept. of Higher Education despite his lack of qualifications for the post, has withdrawn himself from consideration for the post. In a letter to Beebe, Broadway cites family obligations for his decision not to pursue the directorship. Hey, remember way back in July when a pair of  state legislators asked Attorney General Dustin McDaniel for a legal opinion on whether former state Sen.
