Regardless of whether or not Chip gets the RNC chairmanship, I hope the GOP take a good look at his ideas. He has a great plan for revamping the party!

Kinkade, you're right about that. Huck would probably have a small bit of influence in a Saltsman Chairmanship. However, Huck would act like a Saltsman election meant that he was the defacto head of the Party. The reality is that Saltsman is much closer to Frist and the Republicans in Tennessee would benefit, not Huckabee.

Bill,
I didn't mean to suggest that it would be to Huckabee's benefit exclusively. But Huck would certainly see some benefit in having someone with such close ties in such a position.

I think saying that Saltsman becoming RNC Chairman is good for Huckabee is a little naïve. Saltsman is from Tennessee and his first loyalty will always be to Bill Frist not Mike Huckabee.

I agree with Elizabeth. Steele is a good choice. We can make bumper stickers that say

"My party chairmans ex-brother-in-law can beat up your party chairmans ex brother-in-law."

Although Chip certainly is a good guy, my vote (if I had one) would be behind Michael Steele.
