Pine Bluff School Super: “Oops!”

Anthony: "Boy, do I have egg on my face!"
A few months back we learned that the Pine Bluff School District had been defrauded of some $803,000 by a crafty employee who had developed an elaborate scheme to embezzle funds by writing checks to a business account she’d established.
But don’t worry. The district superintendent, Frank Anthony, is “embarrassed” by the malfeasance that occurred under his watch, he told a meeting of the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee today. Whew. For a minute there, I was afraid there would be no repercussions.

Frank Anthony is a good man. His son and daughter-in-law were friends of mine once upon a time, when I romed around Southeast Arkansas. He has a lot of integrity and I think he will get this straight. He works in Pine Bluff the deck is stacked against him.

Dammit, Bryce, I don’t know why you’re always raining on my parade.
