O’Care Architect: “Lack Of Transparency” Reason Law Passed
A new video of Jonathan Gruber, one of Obamacare’s architects, surfaced Sunday in which he said a “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” were big assets in getting Obamacare passed into law.
Bad laws passing due to a “lack of transparency” is one big reason why we’re big proponents of the Freedom of Information Act and open government.
Unfortunately, for an example of bad laws passing due to a “lack of transparency,” Arkansans only have to go back to last week’s passage of Issue 3 — which claimed to be “establishing term limits,” although it actually increased (for instance) House term limits from 6 years to 16 years. Many Arkansans were understandably confused by the title.
P.S.: Although Gruber says “he’d rather have this law than not” he could be one of the key reasons Obamacare is disabled in a possible upcoming Supreme Court decision on Halbig. We’ll have more on this soon.
