From todays illustrious DG editorial board.

“The blue catfish, Ictalurus furcatus, is one of the largest species of North American catfish. Blue catfish are distributed primarily in the Mississippi River drainage including the Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Arkansas rivers. . . . The current angling world record is 124 pounds and was caught by Tim Pruitt on May 22, 2005, in the Mississippi River.â€
—From the entry for blue catfish from the online encyclopedia Wikipedia

I swear. That is a direct cut and paste job that I just did. Just. Like. They. Did.

Yup. The state’s daily paper (or whatever they are calling them selves) has resorted to a user content provided definition to make help make a point in their editorial. While I couldnt give a flying rats tail about what the state fish is (trout piss me off and nevermind the fact that we are in a recession) I couldnt help but to laugh at how odd it is that they quoted wikipedia.

I wonder if they will continue to do that?

According to wikipedia, this is what its like in a Dem Gaz meeting:

“It’s a good ole’ boys club…Male editors are allowed to talk about penis size during news meetings…Editors call Hispanics wetbacks in news meetings Editors are proud to call blacks niggers in news stories.”[2]

  2. Brett Hooton Says:

I wish I could make it but I’ll be out of town. Someone take notes…I’m sure it will be thrilling.

  3. Doug Ward Says:

Good luck, Facebook people. Last week’s controversy with their policies only reaffirmed my earlier decision not to get a Facebook account, so I can’t join the club.

But if anyone gets seriously interested in iPhone and Mac development, let’s talk. The iPhone is the hottest platform on the market right now, and it would be good if more Arkansans got involved with that.

  4. David Kinkade Says:

    Doug,
Facebook participation is not a prerequisite to attending tonight’s festivities. Feel free to show up if you can.

  5. Blake Rutherford Says:

    DK,

Unfortunately I can’t make it, but I’ll look forward to the next meeting.

  6. David Kinkade Says:

Sorry to miss you, Blake, but I’ll report back to you on our findings.
