It's important to keep in mind that the show has producers that planned and scheduled the guests (they must be new at this, too). Also, when the audience isn't filled with family, friends and former staffers (I counted over a dozen), it should provide for some lively questions.

Huck needs to shuck the jacket and get a new singer for the band, though.

Overall, I was quite pleased with the pilot.

I tried, I really tried to watch this. But, it did nothing for me (besides, perhaps make me want to watch MSNBC). I agree with Elizabeth, "it was weird". Mrs. Hasselbeck was good on the eyes. It was actually rather depressing seeing Governor Huckabee do this. Governor Huckabee should relegate himself to some other type of media. Perhaps, he should try to reinvent the wheel in the next episode...

Elizabeth: You make a great point. There are plenty of shows that take time to find their footing -- compare early episodes of "Seinfeld" or "The Simpsons" to what came later and they seem very flat. And Huckabee does have a gift for broadcast, so if FOX News gives the show time to grow, it could develop. Will FOX be patient enough? The early signs are not encouraging.

Dan: Don't you have some books you're supposed to be reading or a debate somewhere you need to prepare for, Poindexter?

I caught bits and pieces of the show. I tried to remain positive throughout; however my "glass half full" attitude dwindled. I will now agree with you - it was wierd. But, then again, lots of pilots can be classified as wierd. Maybe if it were only 30 minutes....

David:

Although I guess Republicans are allowed to have diverse opinions on the quality of Huckabee's new show, they are absolutely not allowed to use "party" as a verb.

Standards, Kinkade, standards.
