Gov. Mark Sanford
Perhaps because I have occasionally helped conservative think tanks in the past, I occasionally receive fundraising solicitations from them in the mail, typically signed by some prominent Republican politician. For instance, a couple of days ago I got a four-page letter (dated June 17) asking me to donate to the Goldwater Institute, signed by South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.
I think it is unlikely that this particular fundraising letter will be the Institute’s most effective.
