Kudos to (my nemesis) Blake Rutherford over at the Think Tank blog, who picks up on the news that Hendrix political science professor and Democrat Jay Barth plans a run for the Arkansas Senate in District 34 in 2010. The seat is currently held by term-limited Sen. Tracy Steele.

Apparently ole Jay doesn’t understand that just because he’s a “minority” doesn’t mean that blacks will vote for him. District 34 is a minority majority district, but his group ain’t the majority. I guess Professor Barth hasn’t looked at the turnout results from Prop. 8 in California.
